New Guinea War 2099 to 2102AD

Pacific Federation Colour Schemes and Tactical Markings:

At the start of the war, all PacFed AFV's sported a standard one colour paint scheme of mid grey, this being a colour which best suited the majority of environments that PacFed forces operated in (units in Antarctica were the exception being painted in a white/pale blue disruptive scheme). However in May 2111 certain units acquired authorisation at the local comanders discretion to paint either dark green or blue patterns across the vehicles dependent on the region they found themsleves fighting in.

Whilst PacFed VTOL units tended to sport the same patterns as their parent units, some airmobile units used aerospace dark grey paint to break up their VTOL's outlines, whilst others painted garish sharks teeth in red and white on the noses of their craft!

PacFed Aerospace forces used a two tone colour scheme of light grey with sharp jagged dark grey distruptive patterns over. Again certain units sported sharks teeth on the noses of their machines along with other varied and colourful artwork.

Naval forces painted their vessels an overall light grey, though some Riverine commanders made use of supplies of the army's mid grey paint to help tone down their appearance in the tight waterways of Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya.

All PacFed equipment carried the standard Aerospace roundel of a yellow inner circle surrounded by a green outer. The only exception was the navy who painted two horizontal coloured bars on their vessels superstructure, green over yellow.

Both Armoured and Infantry Brigades used a system of bars and dots to identify vehicles within a unit but only to section level. Tank units used horizontal bars on their vehicles to signify which platoon the vehicle belonged to (one bar for the 1st platoon, two for the 2nd etc.), below this a dot was painted to signify the section within the platoon (one dot for the 1st section etc.). Infantry units used the same system but replaced horizontal bars with vertical ones. Brigade HQ vehicles could be identified by the painting of an inverted cheveron on their side. At the start of the war these marking were painted in white, but by the end they tended to be in either light or dark grey on a mid grey background.
